Shutting up Alex Semin

When asked wether or not he thought he belonged among the NHL's elite, (Crosby, Malkin, Ovechkin) Alex Semin ripped Sidney Crosby saying:

What's so special about Crosby? I don't see anything special there. Yes, he does skate well, has a good head, good pass. But there's nothing else. Even if you compare him to Patrick Kane from Chicago ... Kane is a much more interesting player. The way he moves, his deking abilities, his thinking on the ice and his anticipation of the play is so superb.
I think that if you take any player, even if he is "dead wood," and start promoting him, you'll get a star.

Especially if he scores 100 points. No one is going to care about anyone else. No one is going to care whether he possesses great skill. Let's say you put someone in front of the net and let him deflect pucks in, and he scored 50 goals; everyone will say "Wow!" and then hand him a $10 million per year

Ok Alex let's compare stats

First you are on pace for a career year, the only thing that prompted this question was "if you were able to maintain this pace?" Like if the Ottawa Senators Filip Kuba was going to maintain his assist average of 1.1 a game he would finish with approx 90 assists, pretty big IF.

Now let's compare stats

Alex Semin

201 Games, 82 Goals, 71 Assists, 153 Points, Minus 20 (ouch) Per Game Point Avg .76

pretty respectable all in all almost a point a game player... but -20

Sidney Crosby

224 Games, 102 Goals, 205 Assists, 307 points, Plus 28, Per Game Point Avg. 1.37

To match his points Alex you need a goal a game, and two assits for the next 20 games straight.
Crosby's point per game avg. is nearly double yours, and is higher than your teamate Ovechkin's plus he is three years younger than AO, and Crosby' has a plus/minus swing with you of plus 48.
